Haroldston
is a traditional Welsh farmhouse, probably built in the 17th
century. A Victorian wing was added later. The house makes a
very atmospheric and spacious self catering holiday cottage home,
offering plenty of 'elbow room' for the accommodation of large
parties of 12 people who are looking for family holidays and
short breaks in Pembrokeshire. Haroldston's central location
in Pembrokeshire
makes it ideal for exploration of this wonderful and diverse
county. For example, those who are looking for a walking holiday
in Wales have easy access to the whole of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path from this base.
Similarly, sightseers can get to St Davids & Fishguard as
easily as Tenby and Saundersfoot. Pembrokeshire's numerous attractions
and events are also close by (see our new Things
To Do guide). |

Haroldston, as a holiday cottage home, has the dual advantage of being in a lovely and peaceful rural environment, at the end of a 300 yard private lane, whilst at the same time being close to the many advantages of Pembrokeshire's county town, Haverfordwest. The main shopping area is a one mile walk away, along a country lane, although it is a little further by car thanks to the one-way system. The nearest pub and restaurant (The Glen) is less than a mile whilst there is a convenience store just 600 yards away. We think that this is important for a self catering cottage holiday and particularly for short breaks where there is no time to lose! In many cases holidaymakers are faced with a drive of several miles just to get a bottle of milk and a newspaper! Finally, Haverfordwest's super new leisure centre is also a mile away.Haroldston's popularity has increased over the years thanks to repeat business and recommendations (see our visitors' book). One aspect that has shown recent growth is short breaks and long weekends to celebrate a family milestone event, such as a 40th, 50th, 60th, 70th or 80th birthday or an important anniversary. Bookings in 2010 have been better than ever with the house sold out throughout the summer. We still have good availability in the autumn and are now looking forward to welcoming guests who recognise that a short break in Pembrokeshire is great even in the winter. Christmas and New Year have also been in much demand over the last few years as families and friends discover the benefits of a seasonal winter holiday together in very atmospheric accommodation. Christmas and New Year are booked up for 2010 but we expect to be taking early bookings for 2011. More and more people are discovering the advantages of a self catering Pembrokeshire cottage holiday with the flexibility of self-determination and the convenience of a 'home-from-home'. Furthermore, those who believe that it's not a proper holiday unless it's a holiday with dogs, can bring them here as well-behaved pets (with well-behaved owners of course) are most welcome. Finally, if you are looking for a cottage holiday or a short break in Pembrokeshire or more specifically self catering accommodation in Pembrokeshire, why not give Haroldston a try? *NB To take advantage of WiFi Internet access at Haroldston, visitors need to bring own laptop computer or PDA with wireless facilities. |
